Electrical and Mechanical beam tilt can be added to any study by clicking the "Beam Tilt" check box on the defaults screen. Once this check box is set, click the "Directional " check box on the main screen. Then click the Pattern button. Once the "Pattern" screen has displayed, click the "VField" button to bring up the Vertical Field pattern screen. Here you can load a pattern previously saved to disk or create your own vertical elevation field pattern.

Points can be added using the "Add point" button. "Edit Point" will edited the highlighted point on the list box. "Remove Point" removes a point when it is no longer needed. The "Clear" button clears the list box and all vertical elevation field values within the program. "Save" will save a pattern to a disk file. "Print" will print out a printed page with the vertical elevation field pattern displayed.
Electrical beam tilt can be added by placing a value in the "Electrical Beam Tilt in Degs." text box. Mechanical beam tilt can be added using the "Mechanical Beam Tilt in Degs." text box. The "Tilt Azimuth" text box receives the azimuth from True North at which the beam is tilted. Note that the program follows the TV rules for adding mechanical and electrical beam tilt. If the beam-tilted signal on the horizon is ten per cent less than the maximum signal without tilt in the main lobe, then the distance to contour is adjusted for the actual calculated signal based on the beam tilt. Otherwise, mechanical beam tilt is always applied.
