Terrain Databases Installing Terrain DatabasesInstalling your terrain data requires the following procedures: If you are using the V-Soft 30 sec terrain database the terrain can be located on any drive in a folder called VSData. If you are using the V-Soft 03 sec USGS database which comes on CD ROM you need only point the terrain elevation path to your CD ROM directory. If you install the 03 sec database to your hard drive it must be in a directory called 3SEC which must not be a sub folder of any other folder. We provide the terrain database on a CD ROM. It can be installed by executing the included file setup.exe. This file can be activated by double clicking on its name using the Microsoft Files Explorer. If you have the 30 second NGDC database (TRN) the terrain data must be in a directory called "TRN". Once the terrain is installed click on "SetUP" from the main screen and then assign the correct database and database drive name and then save the default values by slicking the "Save" button.
Note: If an MS DOS window icon remains on the screen after a terrain access, this means the terrain acquisition process has been interrupted. To continue you must close the MS DOS minimized window. This usually means there is an error in your choice of terrain database. |
