Transmitter Properties Window

The transmitter properties window is used to specify the parameters for a given transmitter such as location, power, and height. When calculating signal, the transmitter properties is also used to choose the propagation model and its parameters.

The tabs at the top of the window are used to set the main page of the window (in cases where specifying the propagation information is not necessary, the “Propagation” tab will not appear). On the “Transmitter” section the various parameters can be entered by hand, or a station can be loaded out of on of the FCC databases by clicking the “Load from FCC Database” button. Use the “Edit Antenna Pattern” button to open the antenna pattern editor.

The “Propagation” section of the transmitter properties window is where the propagation model can be selected using the drop down list box labeled “Propagation Model”. The current variables being used by the propagation model are displayed in the text area of the window. The propagation parameters can be changed by clicking the “Change Propagation Parameters” button.
