The Welcome Screen

When Terrain-3D first loads a startup screen appears giving the following options:

Open an Existing Project

When opening an existing project, you can either click on the name of a recent file or hit “Ok” to load a file using the standard open dialog box.

Create a New Project based on coordinates

To create a project based on a set of coordinates, you must enter a set of latitude/longitude coordinates and an approximate distance you would like the 3D map to extend. To load the coordinates from a transmitter in one of the FCC databases, click the “Get Lat/Lng from Transmitter” button. This will bring up the standard FCC Database search form where you can load a transmitter’s coordinates.

Continue without creating an initial map

The third option on the start screen is to continue without generating an initial map. This will open a new “empty project”, where you can use the 2D map to set locate and select an area for 3D display.
