AM Antenna Editing

Use the "Antenna" tab of the transmitter editing window to configure the antenna setup for the AM station.  The "Pattern Mode" selected at the top of the window defines whether the program should use a tower array or a "User Defined Radiation Pattern".

When using a tower array, the pattern is displayed on the left-hand side of the window and the technical parameters are on the right.  If the "Custom Q" box is checked, then the program will use a "User defined" Q value when calculating the standard pattern, otherwise the Q value will be calculated by the program.  Use the "Calc" button to calculate an RMS value based on the current tower configuration and power.  The "Antenna Mode" entry at the bottom is used for display purposes and must be specified by the user (this value is retrieved from the FCC database when loading stations).

Note: This program uses the same conventions as the FCC database for the RMS value.  If the station is omni-directional the RMS is specified at 1 kW, if the station has more than one tower the RMS is specified at the actual power.

Use the "Theoretical", "Standard", and "Augmented" check boxes on the left side of the window to choose which patterns are displayed on the graph.
